divinely ordained
Divided into spirit and incubated gods, the divine beings of Misona are magic incarnate, composing the order of the cosmos with their every smooth or laboured movement.
spirit gods
Also sometimes known as elementals, or as greater spirits to differentiate them from their progeny, spirit gods are born into godhood and are permanently and irrevocably gods. Technically mortal, but on a scale of existence incomprehensible to mortals, spirit gods have the power to create and shape life. On Misona, each is aligned with a cardinal element (Earth, Air, Fire, or Water). Note: Despite frequently being gendered by their followers, all spirit gods exist between and through gender.

incubated gods
Also known as created, artificial, or birthed gods, these existences have entered godhood through circumstance or will, imposing a great change on the world through the sheer force and magnitude of their power. Their domains are less clearcut than those of spirit gods, owing to the more personal avenues of their ascensions, though despite their previous mortal life are still far closer to their fellow gods than they are to the mortals they came from.
